Ecosystem and Living Things
Each species confronts the
challenges of survival in its own unique fashion. The way in which an
organism interacts with other living things and with its physical
environment defines that organism’s niche, or role in an ecosystem.
Different species in an ecosystem often interact with one another in
such a way that over a very long period of time they develop intimate
associations and influence each other’s evolution. The species
composition of an ecosystem in a given area undergoes orderly changes
over time.
