Soils and Their Preservation

Soil, which is composed of mineral particles, organic material, water, and air, is a valuable natural resource upon which humans depend for food. Different soil types form as a result of complex interactions among rock, climate, living organisms, surface topography, and time. Many human activities create, For example, can increase wind erosion. Although all soils that are farmed experience mineral depletion, this problem is particularly acute when tropical rain forests are removed for agriculture. The goals of soil conservation are to minimize soil erosion and maintain soil fertility so that this resource can be used in a sustainable fashion.
