Water: A Fragile Resource
Fresh water is one of our
most important natural re sources because it's needed for survival and
there is no substitute for it. Indeed, unlike energy, which comes in a
variety of forms, water offers no alternatives. Most of our planet is
covered by water, only a tiny fraction of it is available as fresh water
and the amount of accessible fresh water v; from country to country and
region to region. For example, although water is abundant overall in the
