Embryonic
Development
After release
of eggs from the female body, a series of divisions take place.
Initially, it starts with a transverse division into two equal cells
followed by other quick divisions till a multicellular stage is reached.
Soon, the first stage larva develops inside the egg. Generally, the
first moult occurs
|
inside the
egg resulting in the development of second-stage larva. It
remains coiled inside the egg till appropriate time for emergence or
hatching. The second-stage larva, at this time, resembles the adults
except for size and lack of reproductive parts. Before emergence
from the eggs, the second-stage larva moves vigorously within the
egg shell, probing with its stylet, till it finds a weak spot on the
egg surface and then emerges after puncturing it.
